Privacy Local-first ยท Cloud diagnostics

Bot Creator keeps bot data on your device while using cloud services for diagnostics, analytics, and advertising.

Bot configurations, workflows, and runtime state stay local. Diagnostic data, crash reports, and advertising identifiers are transmitted to third-party services described below.

Your bot data stays on the device or machine running the product.

Bot Creator stores metadata, command settings, workflows, variables, and runtime data in the local app directory or the mounted runner volume. Diagnostic and analytics data is sent to third-party services as described in the sections below.

Google Drive is used for backup and restore only.

When you connect Google Drive, Bot Creator syncs backup data to the AppData folder. On the runner, OAuth tokens stay in the mounted volume so they survive restarts.

Diagnostic and usage data is collected via Firebase.

Bot Creator uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs. These services collect device type, operating system version, IP address (anonymized), Firebase Installation ID, in-app actions, and crash stack traces. This data is sent to Google servers.

Ads are served by third-party networks.

Bot Creator displays ads provided by Google AdMob and IronSource. These SDKs collect advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), IP address, and interaction data to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads. A consent dialog powered by Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) is shown at launch so you can choose whether to allow personalized advertising. You can also revoke consent at any time from your device settings.

Watch ads to unlock cloud storage for your bot data.

A future version of Bot Creator will let you watch ads to earn cloud storage for your bot configurations, workflows, and related data. When you opt in, selected data will be stored on Firebase Firestore on your behalf. This is a functional feature: cloud storage is provided as a service in exchange for ad views, not for analytics or tracking purposes. You will be clearly informed before any data leaves your device.

Protect your tokens, exports, backups, and connected accounts.

Bot Creator is a third-party service that interacts with the Discord platform. Discord bot tokens are sensitive credentials governed by Discord's Terms of Service. Tokens are stored locally on your device. When you use the cloud runner, your token is transmitted to our servers at startup to connect your bot, but it is never stored in a database and only lives in memory for the duration of the session. You are responsible for keeping your tokens, device, backups, and connected Google account secure.

Discord sign-in will be available in a future update.

A future version of Bot Creator will offer authentication via Discord OAuth2. When enabled, the app will collect your Discord user ID, username, email address, and avatar for authentication and cloud backup of your configurations. This data will be stored on Firebase Authentication and Firestore. This section will be updated before the feature launches.

How to request deletion

To request the deletion of the data associated with your Bot Creator account, send an email to contact@bot-creator.fr with the subject line "Data deletion request". Include the email address or Discord username linked to your account so we can identify your data. We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Data that will be deleted

  • Your user profile (Discord user ID, username, email address, avatar)
  • Cloud-stored bot configurations, workflows, and related data (Firebase Firestore)
  • Authentication credentials (Firebase Authentication)
  • Advertising consent preferences

Data that may be retained

  • Aggregated analytics data (Google Analytics for Firebase) โ€” anonymized usage statistics that cannot identify you are retained indefinitely for product improvement.
  • Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) โ€” anonymized stack traces are retained for up to 90 days after collection to fix bugs.
  • Legal obligations โ€” if we are required by law to retain certain data (e.g. transaction records), we will keep only what is legally required for the applicable retention period.

Data stored locally on your device (bot tokens, configurations, logs) is not transmitted to our servers and must be deleted by you directly by uninstalling the app or clearing its data.
